The vision of Comic Relief is ‘A just world free from poverty.’ Comic Relief do this by raining funds and awareness and allocating the money raised from the public to charitable projects across the UK and some of the poorest countries in the world, especially in Africa. In the UK, Comic Relief awards grants under six programmes: Young People, Older People, Mental Health, Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Domestic Violence and Disadvantaged Communities.

The Community Facilities and Activities Programme (CFAP) is a capital grant scheme operated by the Welsh Assembly Government to help community and voluntary organisations provide or improve facilities, or carry out activities which will promote the regeneration of communities.

Co-operative and Community Finance (www.icof.co.uk)
Co-operative & Community Finance has been providing loan finance for co-operatives, employee owned businesses and social enterprises for 30 years.
They raise money primarily by public share issue, and lend it for social purpose and collective benefit. They also manage loan funds for several other organisations providing co-operative and community finance.

Environment Wales (www.environment-wales.org)
Environment Wales is a partnership of organisations in the voluntary sector, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government. Its aim is to contribute to sustainable development by supporting and encouraging voluntary action to protect and improve the environment.

Finance Wales (www.financewales.co.uk)
Finance Wales provides commercial funding to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) throughout Wales enabling them to realise their potential for innovation and growth. They invest in both start-up businesses and established SME’s. As a commercial growth funder, Finance Wales adopts a flexible but focused approach and is involved in a growing number of syndicated deals and co-investments. They can structure investment support ranging from a £5,000 loan to million pound plus equity deals.
