The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) was set up by Parliament in 1994 to give
grants to a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and national
heritage of the United Kingdom. The funder supports the entire range of
heritage including buildings, natural heritage, museums and the heritage
of cultural traditions and language. The fund help groups with projects
that encourage more people to be involved in and make decisions about their
heritage, conserve and enhance the UK’s diverse heritage and ensure
that everyone can learn about, have access to and enjoy their heritage.
Institute
of Fundraising Cymru (www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk)
The Institute of Fundraising is the professional body that represents fundraisers
in the UK. Their mission is to support fundraisers, through leadership,
representation, standard-setting and education, to deliver excellent fundraising.
Lloyds
TSB Foundation (www.lloydstsbfoundations.org.uk)
The Foundation’s mission is to support and work in partnership with
recognised charitable organisations which help disadvantaged people to
play a fuller role in communities throughout England and Wales. The Lloyds
TSB Foundation for England and Wales is one of the UK’s leading independently
run charitable grant-making trusts – they fund thousands of charities
each year working to tackle disadvantage and in the last five years they’ve
given grants of more than £115 million.
Sports
Council for Wales (www.sports-council-wales.org.uk)
The Sports Council for Wales is the national organisation responsible
for developing and promoting sport and active lifestyles. It is the main
adviser
on sporting matters to the Welsh Assembly Government and is responsible
for distributing funds from the National Lottery to sport in Wales. The
themes of the Council’s work are: active young people, active communities — developing
people and places and developing performance and excellence.
