Pub is the Hub

"Rural communities, and this country's rural way of life, face unprecedented challenges ... the country pub, which has been at the heart of village life for centuries, is disappearing in many areas. Providing services from the pub, such as a post office or a shop, keeps an essential service in the village."  HRH The Prince of Wales.

Pub is the Hub encourages rural pub owners, licensees, and their local communities to work together to support, retain and locate local services where possible within the pub whilst often improving the viability of the business itself. Pub is the Hub assists with guidance on the availability of local and regional project funding, and having a thorough understanding of the pub business, is able to advise on the best way to progress with each individual project.

John Pepin – Sharing Without Merging – Helpful or a Waste of Time?

Effective collaboration saves money, enhances quality, leads to increases in the number of clients served, and supports successful participation in the government’s privatisation processes or working with funders; or it can waste resources.  Doing it only when it adds value makes sense and in order to do this a business-like approach should be taken to assess value and impact.  Approaches to sharing without merging will be explored along with an outline of a due diligence process.  Participants will be given the opportunity to share successes and to explore failures, and how to manage risk; generating ideas for your organisation and its key stakeholders.

Procurement -

From Grants to Contracts – An object obscured by veils!

CAVS and Carmarthenshire County Council have worked with both small and large third sector organisations over the past year in an attempt to expose what a successful and sustainable bid for work looks like.

Come along to our workshop with procurement experts from across the region and all will be revealed!
