Aggregates
Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF) (http://new.wales.gov.uk)
The aim of the ALSF is to address the environmental costs associated with aggregates
extraction. The objectives of the scheme are: Old mineral permissions, promoting
the use of alternative materials, reducing the impact of quarrying, environmental
and amenity benefits to communities affected by aggregates extraction, conserving
and improving sites of special interest, and education projects.
Arts
and Business Cymru (www.aandb.org.uk)
Arts and Business Cymru aims to promote, enable and sustain mutually beneficial
partnerships between business and the arts. The main activities of A&B Cymru
include Professional Development Programmes and Arts @ Work. The organisation
also runs two investment schemes, REACH and INVEST, which are cash programmes
that enhance projects and increase the long term effectiveness of innovative
partnerships. Partnerships addressing one or more of the following objectives
are encouraged: young people, social inclusion, Welsh language, geographical
spread and employee access and development.
Big
Lottery Fund (BLF) (www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/wales)
The BLF is responsible for giving out half of the money for good causes raised
by the National Lottery, giving them a budget of about £630 million a year.
The BLF run a number of schemes, with the mission of improving communities and
the lives of people most in need, with three key themes for each scheme: supporting
community learning and creating opportunity, promoting community safety and cohesion
and promoting wellbeing. Some of the funds run by the BLF include Awards for
All, People and Places and The Young People’s Fund.
Building
Preservation Trust (www.ahfund.org.uk/advice_bpt.html)
A building preservation trust (BPT) is a charity whose main aims include the
preservation and regeneration of historic buildings. The majority are rooted
in their local communities. Some cover individual towns, cities, or whole counties;
others specialise in particular types of building and a few cover the whole of
the UK.
